24 hours in transit

semi-overcast

Finally, 24 hours later and we have made it to Norway.  A tad smelly, tired but
running on adrenaline.
Our journey began with a slight delay at Perth airport. Due to the volcano ash over
Indonesia, the plane that was taking us to Singapore was delayed. Our flight also
had to take another route. Thank goodness for my parents, they helped keep Isaac
occupied whilst James and I tried to relaxed.
Flight to Singapore was great. Nice and smooth. There were 12 kids under 2 on the
flight so Isaac had enough people to keep him happy. He also slept for about an hour
of the trip. The rest of the time was spent walking up and down aisles, reading
books and playing peek a boo with those behind us.

If you have ever flown into Changi airport you will agree with me when I say it is
HUGE and AWESOME!!!  Such a lovely place and I only wish our transit was a bit
longer. Isaac and I managed to go and have a lovely shower whilst James checked out
the shops. We then grabbed a bite to eat and headed for our flight.
The loooooooooong  flight to Frankfurt was pretty good. Isaac was asleep before we
even took off and sleep for the next 7 hours. James and I struggled to get comfy.
Although Isaac was sound asleep in the bassinette, we only managed a few hours
sleep. There was a little turbulence but nothing to freak me out.

Now someone mentioned to me that German’s are organised people. Well you try getting
through passport checks and security checks there at Frankfurt. Absolute debacle.
The queue to get our passports checked was long and hot and very over crowded. Cue
Isaac. He started balling. He was tired at this point and I think he picked up on my
frustration with possibly missing our connecting flight. So the lovely guard came
and assisted us to skip the queue, much to the dislike of other travellers. But Im
sure knowone wanted to hear a crying toddler. Thanks you Isaac!!  That wasn’t all
though, it was then getting through security. The queues were long and very
slooooooooooow. Unfortunately no amount of crying, from me this time, was going to
get us through quicker. (jokes, I didn’t cry, but I felt like it). Thank goodness
our flight was delayed by 30 mins otherwise we would have missed it. So I don’t
think the Germans are organised at all, well they certainly aren’t at Frankfurt
airport.
Then onto Oslo. By now my nerves from flying have decreased so so much. Didn’t quite
squeeze James’ hand as hard during take off and landing.
Such a relief to finally be here after travelling for many hours. Isaac has done so
well and has managed to stay awake and only now going to sleep for the night (5.13pm
local time)
